A Step Toward Eye Care in Communities Where Glasses Are Unknown

In December 2024, 25 Sangwaris were trained in primary vision screening during a 3-day workshop supported by VisionSpring. This hands-on training equipped them with the skills to identify vision issues, make referrals and provide near vision glasses at an affordable price.

Starting February 2025, these trained Sangwaris have begun delivering vital eye care services within their communities – addressing hesitation among the community, making people aware of the need to pay attention to eye health, bringing vision support closer to those who need it most.

This initiative marks a significant step towards improving eye health access in underserved areas and empowering local health workers with essential skills.
