In India, agriculture is one of the most important sectors of occupation, irrespective of state or geography. Over 50% of the national population is engaged in farming or allied agricultural activities.
Bahaar Foundation seeks opportunities to work with the farming community to identify crops with higher yields, seek ways to improve the output with existing crops, improve their income with existing infrastructure, or provide facilities for allied activities that can help them augment their income.
Our first pilot in agriculture was moringa cultivation, where we facilitated skill development, financing and market Linkages, was pilited in Tumkur District in Karnataka.
