Creating Sustainable Livelihoods and Health Access in Rural Punjab
The Community Health Entrepreneur (CHE) program has been expanded to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, marking another step in our journey to scale community-led healthcare solutions across diverse geographies.
In partnership with Mrida Group, we have upskilled their existing Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) trainers to take on an expanded role as Sehat Saathis. These local leaders, already embedded within their communities, are now equipped to provide essential health awareness, basic screening support, and referral facilitation alongside their existing responsibilities.
By building on an established cadre of community-based entrepreneurs, this expansion strengthens trust, improves last-mile health access, and reinforces the integration of livelihood and healthcare delivery. The Bareilly initiative also offers an opportunity to understand how the CHE model can be effectively adapted through strategic grassroots networks.
